Anderson Silva: Takedown Defense (Single Leg Counters)

Here is the Spider's take on defending single leg takedowns, mostly counter throws.  Each of these techniques begin with disruption of the opponent's posture, starting with head placement. Finishing a single leg is dependent on maintaining proper posture and technique, therefore manipulating their posture (especially head / neck posture) makes it more difficult for the opponent to complete the takedown. This gives the practitioner a chance at escape, defense or a counter attack, in this case a series of throws.
